Linen Postcards

These postcard booklets were purchased by my grandparents in April 1937. How To Skip School In The 1930s is the memory tied to this beautiful set of unused postcards. Click here to read.

Linen postcards were printed in the U.S. between the 1930s and 1950s. They were not made from linen but had a high "rag content" meaning they had a specific amount of cotton fiber in the paper. Linen is a reference to the surface texture of the postcard. Their beautiful saturated colors and soft focus are key to identifying them. Curt Teich Co. of Chicago was one of the best known publishers.
